What information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

- details about your experience of continence support, which may include health, disability or other sensitive personal information;
- correspondence and requests you send to us; and
- website usage information such as pages visited, session information, approximate location, and browser and device information.
You can choose how much information to provide. Please do not provide personal information about another person unless you have their permission or are authorised to do so.
How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you use the Paperform form embedded on this website. We also use Google Analytics to collect general information about how people use the website.
Why we collect and use information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to questions, requests and expressions of support;
- understand experiences of continence support and inform CFAN’s advocacy;
- contact you about information you have submitted;
- operate, protect and improve the website; and
- meet applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
We will not publicly identify you or publish an attributed personal story without obtaining additional permission.
Paperform and overseas processing
Our contact and story form is provided by Paperform. Paperform processes form responses on our behalf. Paperform states that its primary servers are hosted by Amazon Web Services in the United States, although information may also be accessed or processed in Australia, Singapore or other countries used by Paperform and its service providers.
Information submitted through the form may therefore be stored or processed outside Australia. Paperform’s handling of information is also governed by its Privacy policy.
Google Analytics and cookies
Google Analytics helps us understand website traffic and usage. Its standard implementation may collect a client identifier stored in a first-party cookie, session statistics, approximate location, and browser and device information. We do not intentionally send names, contact details or the content of form submissions to Google Analytics.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Other websites
This website links to external services and websites, including Change.org, LinkedIn, Continence Health Australia and news publications. Those organisations handle information under their own privacy policies when you visit their websites.
Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Information may be held in CFAN’s service-provider accounts and systems accessible only to authorised people who need it for CFAN activities.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. When it is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Access, correction and deletion
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, withdraw permission for future use, or ask us to delete information where appropriate. Use our contact form and provide enough detail for us to identify the relevant information.
Privacy questions and complaints
If you have a privacy question or believe your information has been mishandled, contact us through our contact form. We will review your concern and respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Australian Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
